Not quite sure why I'm posting this but I'm soooo excited!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hope to post some pictures of them and their run soon.

I know exactly (eggsactly?) how you feel Jonny!!  I picked up my hens today too!

Mine are a bit scrawny looking - the breeder said that they were going through their moult but to me they look a bit hen pecked...  pics will follow soon too!

:o  What did your boss say to that!!??

I basically kept them in most of the day, until I could stand no more of their pecking at the little window to be let out!!  I let them have a roam around for about an hour or two, but put them back in at about 6 o clock.

THey've been out today all day and were good girls;  THey had put themselves to bed when I got there to lock them up!   ;D

Hi Grotbag,

I have built a run and house fot them and am quite pleased with the results although the run needs enlarging. I used sawn timber from B&Q and treated this myself for the run. For the house I made a frame, lined the inside with plywood and the outside with tongue & groove planks.... OH cristened it 'Cluckingham Palace'  ;D

Hiya,

Long time no update... here's the house and run it their finished form. The chooks have been laying for over a month now and we have more eggs than we can eat! Just to give a scale the interior of the house is 4'x3'. My other half has called it 'Cluckingham Palace'.

Here's a couple of pictures, the chickens on day 1 with grass in the run and six weeks later with larger chickens and bare earth ;-)

Nice hens. Great cree & run.

Let me know how you get on with the green feeder in your picture. I got 2 of them 6 weeks ago. The hens just tip the food all over the place. Gone back to putting it in troughs

I've put the small green feeder in the shed and am currently using it's larger cousin, big green feeder. They were kicking the food about and pooing in the feeder somehow so now I've hung it up from the underside of the house, they can't stand in it now but it doesn't half spin around when it's windy. LOL.
