Are all dried beans edible?

Are ALL types of dried bean seed (French, runner, Barlotti) edible if soaked and boiled first? Does anyone know if there are any types that you can't eat?

I have several sorts of unidentified beans drying on my plot (original seed given as a present, originator didn't know what they were) and with so many left over I 'm thinking there is no way I'll have space/get around to planting them all next season. So I was thinking of using the dried beans as an edible stand-by.

The first unidentified beans are white (probably French?) and the second a speckled pink/purple (Barlotti?). They both had long green runner type pods when fresh.

I have read previous useful posts on eating dried beans, but I'm still a little hazy if all types are edible.

Thanks for the link Paul, a really useful website. The pictures of the dried beans are useful for identification purposes too!

The answer seems to be yes all dried beans are edible.
