Elephant garlic

I have some cloves from the summer's harvest that didn't divide, just like conventional garlic.

If I were to replant these cloves, which are currently the size of medium size onions, would I get a plant with larger than normal cloves, assuming division takes place, and hence would these be a preference for seed?
