Unless we have slugs the size of savaloys, could moles have eaten some of our spuds under ground?  We have moles all over the plot, and some of our spuds have been eaten in half!

Moles is carnivores and eat worms not vegeatables

Slugs can completely devour spuds but not usually this early in the year.

What do the "teeth marks" look like

Phil

Um....I didn't look that hard to be honest phil, just picked up spuds that were in half and munched and binned them!  If I find any more I shall have a good look.

Foxes?  We'd a fox family take a linking to one particular variety - very conspicuous teeth marks, and well-chewed!

All best - Gavin
