Council worker deserves high praise!

It's not very often that I have reason to praise the efforts of a Council Worker (with apologies to any members who happen to be employed by their local authority).

Since we got our lottie in the summer last year, we have not been able to get on top of it. We managed to get a few later growing veg in but that was all. All the digging we did just got covered in weeds a few days later. Our household budget doesn't stretch to 50 quid for black placky sheets.

But a few days ago I explained what the problem was to our Allotment Manager and asked if he might be kind enough to rotovate it so we can start afresh at the beginning of this season.

Not only did he agree, but he did it within two days, with no charge, and I have never seen such beautifully conditioned soil on any other allotment. It's really light and airy, and a real joy to plant in.

So if Gary from Reading Council looks in here at all, Many thanks for your kindness; you are definitely on our crimbo card list  ;D
