After 50 years, something has suddenly decided to excavate our front steps!!

The gate was open, so it could be a largish critter.

Got the same problem in my garden but think its foxes!!.

betula

Large holes were appearing around our neighbours static caravan steps.

The mystery was finally solved when I saw the culprits. It was those dastardly wabbits ;D

Looks like foxes looking for somewhere to nest, we had a huge hole under our shed up our old lottie and a litter of 5 cubs played on the fleece and even got into the polytunnel !! They used to sun themselves on the roof of the flippin shed !

Well, nothing larger than a rabbit will get in tonight!

PS Just heard - Wild Boar are running wild in Gloucestershire??

saddad

Absolutely livid I heard!!

It may be a Fox looking to make a meal of who lives under your step Tim. :o

:-\  Not sure if this will help you decide what is rummaging around your step tim, but maybe worth a read......

Good read!

And I was wrong about denying access - these are this morning's prints.

betula

Mmmm............the plot thickens

First wild boars and now......

Bigfoot? :o

:-\  :-\  :-\ Ohhhh tim the mystery continues........ several of my family members have puzzled over your footprint photograph and my son suggested a  Felis catus, ha! ha!! a domestic cat...

could be scratching under/around your step for a mouse/vole??

My husband suggested a fox.....

and my mother suggested a badger....

Personally I am none the wiser..... a rabbit would be like this: - and I am quite sure you would be certain to find rabbit droppings so I do not think its a rabbit........

So then I thought about an hedgehog but pretty sure they will still be in hibernation..
So all in all tim, the mystery continues.... you can take a look at this website and see what you think?
www.ypte.org.uk/docs/factsheets/env_facts/wildlife_id.html

Failing that guess you are going to have to camp in the garden all night and lie in wait until the culprit appears.... ha!! ha!!
Keep us posted tim and let us know if you ever find out what critter is potholing around your step!!

Did the crittur open the gate Tim?

Tin Shed

I reckon its foxes. I blame everything on foxes....or rats!!!!!!!!!

tim

Useful site.
Gate still shut!
The hole is 6" across & all that soil is 'spoil'. I shall rake it over & see if I can get some better prints.
