What do you think to this?

*trout with almond and herb crust (small pieces of trout fillet with with a crust made from crackers, fresh thyme, ground almonds and black pepper served with toasted almonds and lemon)

*steak and ale pie (braised brisket in ale in a short crust pie, with mashed potatoes and steamed veg)

*rhubarb charlotte with vanilla ice cream

Any suggestions for improvements or alterations? What veg? (not much ready on the plot bar rhubarb!)

First course might be better with a sauce.  Seems a bit dry.  A nice hollandaise sauce would probably help.

Apart from that, happily await the invitations ;D

Maybe something green. A salad?  The meat pie sounds intriguing, never had one.

Brisket sounds good but shin of beef has soooooo much flavour imho  :P
If I ever get it all right - then that's the time to quit.

For the steamed veggies I would do carrots and tenderstem broccolli, the colours together on a plate against the pie would look great! ;D
