Went to go to work yesterday and found that my passenger side wing mirror had been snapped off. As I got back out of my car and walked around to find the mirror I found that not only was the mirror damaged, someone had drive past, swiped the side of my car, ripping off the front wing (it's only plastic) dented all the passenger door then scratched all the way back on passenger side as they kept going!

In first inspection I thought it was all bodywork damage but they have slightly bent the front wheel! I'm reluctant to have to cliam through my insurance but the car is only 3 years old and I dunno if I can afford to have the work done myself.

Grrrr I'm really wound up as I had to figure out how to get to work by bus for today. I work down the road in Stockton and start work before the trains run!

Got a quote yesterday for the keyed damage to my car - £1400. And the police of course show no interest whatsoever, too busy planning how to harass me next.

Don't get me started on the police! Lol Cleveland police are a joke.
Last time we had damage done to our other car, we reported it immediately and they never bothered to show up.

Spoke to the local beat bobby a few days later and he didn't know anything about it. So I have not even bothered reporting it this time. They will only tell me there is nothing they can do!

However I daren't use the car, even with bodywork damage as I know that the first police car I drive past will pull me over and harras me for 1/2 an hour!

You have my sympathy Lacelotte.  I had damage done to my car a few years back and the police were useless.  I actually caught the swines doing it and chased them up the road, police found them and because I couldn't tell at 3am whether the little swines jacket was grey or white they couldn't do anything apparently.  This despite several witnesses saying they'd seen them doing other cars over in between me chasing them and the police catching them.  And then to top it all, I had to drive my poorly car to the station for Scenes of Crime to dust it because they were too busy to come out!!!  ??? ??? ???

I watched some youths under a car in the middle of the night setting it up for a fire.  I was on the phone to control telling them everything they were doing and that they were trying to blow this car up.

The youths saw the police car coming up the road and went to hide in a neighbouring garden.  I told the control exactly which house garden they were in but the car just drove past!!... Wasn't bothered to stop or do anything!!!.

15 minutes later the youths were successful and set the car alight!!... If only they listened to me in the first place.

Lacelotte Really sorry to hear what the scumbags have done. I can't see your repairs being very cheap. Have you got no claims discount protection? I hope so.
So much vandalism seems to be the norm these days, and the culprits never seem to be caught.

Last time the local residents met with our local police they tried telling us that there were no reported vehicle crime in the past 6 months, despite us reporting numerous crimes.

When it comes to figures, you can make them say whatever you want.

Everyone says the police dont do anything. They will if you make such a bl00dy nuisance of yourself they have to. if they dont make a complaint write to your MP and copy in the chief constable. They have "service" standards and targets same as everyone. they also have a complaints comission. If everyone started to use the things that were put in to protect them. We would find that their own rules can be used just aswell against them.
