and getting bored i am afraid to say.

Dont get me wrong I like nice warm sunny weather, but when it's too hot to DO anything in the garden, there is only so much pleasure to be had sitting around enjoying it. I've spent the day sitting around reading in the garden, but to be honest i've had enough now.

Anyone else feel the same or is it just me?

Iz not as hot as sum places like, the Sun! which gets very hot indeedy spesh this time of year, janners is okay as its the suns winter up there it is...and here's a little tip for you if you decides to go there..... take plenty of Ibufreeze... apply about 20 to 30 tubes before you go and top up with another 10 ibufreeze sun factor "-500000 degrees celsius" (it does cost more but hey.. what the heck) a day....... and if u is planning a nice little picnic up there.... then .....  dont take Ice Cream.. cuz itza dead nickable commoditty up around those parts , it iz.. and from my own personal experience can only say that every single time I have taken a few cornettoes up there with me.... I find  that I has bin victim of baggage theives??  blinking blonking solar ice cream thieves.. god! you cant turn your back for 5 mins.. anyways basic thing is northerners dont know what real heat is.. oh no no no.... us Southerners  are still wearing our wooly jumpers we is... old southerner saying..  dont cast a clout till its over 29 degrees.. oh no no no no... anyways the moral of this tale is by all means take a ready basted bernard mathews up with you (delish) and you wont be disapointed.. but please please please be advised that your travel insurance dont cover you for cornetto theft or any other type of ice cream for that matter..... anyways where is I?  gonna hit post and see whats going on...

I can't get enough of it, for this chickaleeta, the hotter the better!  So long as I have lashings of water to drink, and a slap of suntan cream on, I can carry on regardless.  The only thing I find is by the end of the day, I am knackered!!  ;D  Keep coming sun...mind you, a night or good solid fast falling rain wouldn't go a miss!  ;D

I just love it. I get so high off the seratonin from the sun that I can't stop working.

But I do dehydrate very easily - so frequent breaks are taken, lots of water is drunk (lucky Mr Aqui can go on the compost, I have to run indoors before I burst!) We put bottles of water in the freezer so they get a bit icy and they stay cooler for longer outside. Lots of good excuses for ice cream (it stops me dehydrating, don't you know!)

I tend to do gentler work in hot weather, like potting up, weeding, dead heading, etc, (despite shifting the ton of soil last week!)

There's always something to do. Although I could happily spend hours watching the butterflies dance!
gone to pot :D

Hmm looks like i am in a minotity them

Dehydration is my problem really, cant seem to drink enough in weather like this to be able to cope. Not tat theres anything drasticaly wrong with me, its just the way i am I guess.

The other thing is the hot sun saps my energy. At other times of the year the sun energises me (ie in spring), but really hot sun has the opposite effect. Dont have the energy to do things, then feel annoyed with myself for being 'lazy'. Crazy!

I'm with you Richard -you can have too much of a good thing. I tend to get hot & bothered and then drowsey -nothing to do with the lunchtime beer  :D. I'm tempted to go all mediterranean and have a siesta and do the work early and late. I'm not sure what the boss(es) would think -either here or at home.

Dont know about siestas, a times I have felt like migrating for the duration - to Greenland!

That'd cut down on the weeding & mowing!
