Wow, this is where we need the big green smiley - really envious of your crop.  Which strawbs do you grow?

Me too Tonybloke!

I'm picking 6 boxes a day same size as yours, 'cos that's all I can fit in the bike panniers.  Got a jam production line going and have had strawbs and cream every night for the last 2 weeks.  I feel some summer puddings coming on now the rasps are cropping.

Mine are in a bed about 12 ft x 6ft and are perpetual so last year I picked my last lot in Nov!  Don't know what they are, dug them out from under the brambles, nettles and couch when I took the plot.

same as ceres, unknown varieties, possible cambridge favourite. have started a new bed of 'temptation' from seed this year! ;) ;D ;D ;D

Looks like you'll be making more jam next week aswell!!
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

Well, I picked ONE strawberry from my plot today! My resoultion for next year is to really make an effort with strawberries.

GrannieAnnie

Good job, Tony!  Something you can enjoy all year long. How satisfying!!
We only grow enough for a bowl a day and like the perpetual ones.

now i want to cry!!! they look fab!!!! my strawbs have flowers with the petals dropped off and no strawberrylike swellings of note, sob, mum reckons too little water as theyre under a tree, but theyre certainly good asnd bushy and im now feeding with dilute tommy feed, siigh, none of the fruit ive got looks like actually fruiting this yr, maybe they need to be established??? sdooooo jealous!!
i think i like it here :D now who can tell me how to grow my own chocolate???

Patrick King
