I see from BBC website that Toby Buckland is to be new presentor of Gardners World.
Do you think he will be a good presentor?

brilliant, he's got a really good allotment, he used to do articles in the gardening magazines, really friendly, hope he's the same on GW  ;D

Flighty

I think that he'll be excellent!
Flighty's plot,  http://flightplot.wordpress.com,  is my blog.

I support the Gardening with Disabilities Trust, http://www.gardeningwithdisabilitiestrust.org.uk

I liked him when he did his piece on GW, was it last week?  I did wonder if the short list all did pieces for GW recently to see how they did.

I like what I've seen of him in the past, so it depends what the producers make him do!

A bit of a young Geoff Hamilton maybe? He built the garden for Gardener's World Live which won gold and best in show using recycled materials.

He seems like a nice guy, I wish him all the best in the new role, it'll be nice to someone running the show with Carol and Joe.

might start watching it again :)

I'm with you cambourne7 - might start watching it again now.  Hope the BBC don't treat Toby like the football fraternity treat so many of their talented young players and try to make the player play differently in the guise that they are nurturing their natural talent.

They certainly have struggled to replace Geoff Hamilton. Alan Titchmarsh was quite good.

I get fed up listening to women gushing over 'delicious compost' lately.

I wonder how Carol feels after doing such a good job as the main presenter of GW only to find that she is back with Joe as a sidekick to Toby Buckland, will Alys keep doing(i do like her bits :P) her bits.

Sometimes I feel that I have had enough of Carol, I am enthusiatic but sometimes she can get too over excited about plants. Nice to see some new blood.  Is it on Friday, don't know who he is but will do a blog search.

I'm afraid there's something about Carol Klein's voice that irritates me. Not the (now BBC required) regional accent or what she says, but the way she says it.  Does anyone else have the same problem?

NO. I just think she as a real love of plants and cannot help but get excited about them.

Carol has such a lot of knowledge.I saw her in some very old programmes on the gardening Chanel and she spoke quite normally, not gushing as she does now.I think the producers have told her to sound passionate..........and she has :)

Borlotti

She is probably very nice and clever but she is so annoying.

You know I don't think GW needs a main presenter, they are all quite good in their own way. :)

Said on the link that Toby Buckland was gardener to Tom Sharpe.  If it is the one I am thinking of he (Tom Sharpe) is so so funny.  Learn new thing everyday.  Just trying to think of the books he wrote.  Will do a google search.  Did you know that Joe Swift's dad was in 'Mrs Bucket' (Mrs Bouquet) must be getting old, can't remember the name. He looks like his dad.
