Just because you don't understand it doesn't make it rubbish! Also if you ask people will explain.

I googled claires allotment as suggested and came up with various options so wasn't totally clear which one you meant at first. A link, as helpfully explained and proposed by Asbean, would have been quicker and clearer. Nevertheless the youtube clips are good., particularly for newbies, thanks for pointing us in their direction.

Oh btw I would probably have put this in "the basics" rather than "the shed". :)
