Hasn't your garden improved Richard. What a difference. Love the shape of your lawn!! Looking forward to seeing the rest of your pics when you have a chance to post them.

Do you collect seeds from your Crocosmia Lucifer by any chance? Reason for asking is that if you do, and have any spare, could I be so bold as to ask if I could have some please?  :-* :-* I only have the more common orange ones and have wanted Lucifer in the garden for ages. Too mean to buy the seeds!!! No, seriously I could do a swap. If you are interested I will PM you with my addy and a list of seeds I've got spare.

Thanks.

Eileen.

Thanks for tthe replies.

Eileen: I dont usualy harvest seeds but as you ask so nicely, i will on this occasion - if someone could advise me how! The flowers are now over they are now forming small green 'peas' on the flower stem. - are these the actual seed or is the seed inside these 'pods'?

Also when are they ripe to harvest?

If i could also have some advice on the best way to send them through the post. Id be OK with seed packets, but not sure on homegrown seeds.

I'd be interested to 'hear' what you have to offer me in return Eileen.

Pixie: thanks for the compliment on 'mixing veg with flowers'. Other than the sweet peas I didnt realise i had!

The sweet peas though decorative are kind of a crop really, i grow them for cutting. I would normaly have a whole bed of various annuals for cutting in the veg garden, but this year I started to reorganise the fruit and veg plot and didnt have the room for them. Will next year though.

I didn't literaly mean mixing - just that your layout let them work harmony in a close area.

Oh I know what I mean and it was ment as a compliment.

You pictures make me wish we had a garden by our house. Really nice looking, your neighbors are lucky to be able to see such a wonderful garden next door. Big garden too.

What a great garden, Richard.  so much to see, you have certainly made excellent use of your space - and I see  your interplanting of veggies worked well too!  Congrats.

Beautiful garden. You have done a lot of hard werk.
Crocosmia licifer is a tuberous plant ( een knolgewas).
The plant makes little bulbs. Take these little ones
( broedknolletjes) and grow them in a seperate bed.
