Hi everyone, Came back from Tunisia on Sunday. Had a wonderful holiday, so much so that we are off again on Wednesday. Cannot go away during the growing year so next year maybe a month with Saga during the winter months. Have managed to get up the plot to see whats happening with crops. Nothing spoiling at the moment. Have to gather my butternut on Saturday just in case we get a frost.Take care everyone till we get back
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

You show me yours then I'll show you mine? ;)

Anyway, really really pleased that you and Tone had a great hol and are going off on another - all signs to me that your mum is well and happy in her new home to give you the confidence to take off. Bloody great result!

Shirl. Glad you and Tony had a well deserved break. I am off for 2 weeks on 1st Nov,
Guess where ??? KENT!!!! to keep my sister (86) company while her son and daughter-in-law are off to Australia for 5 weeks to visit their sons and grandsons.
I always enjoy myself, tea in bed every morning and all my meals cooked for me, I do manage to sneak in to the kitchen to do the washing up sometimes :)

Smile at your enemies.

It makes them wonder what you are up to.

Thanks for the encouragement folks. We spoke to quite a few people while we were away who had been in our position and they said that their elderly parents were very happy once they had settled down in a care home. This was very evident to us when we went to see Mom the day after we got back. She looked very well and it was so nice just to sit and have a cup of tea with her and enjoy her company without having the caring roll in the back of my mind. Anyway We've booked it Packed it and are almost ******* off as Peter Kay would say. Another few days of veggie soup and I can start stuffing meself when I get there. Will try to take a couple of pics this time.
