Do not want to put you off but having been a Pastry Chef in the 1970s' I would stilluse frozen puff pastry rather than make it.

Jus-Rol, another one of those, yes I can, but why bother items  (still make my own scones though)
is it in the sale?

Me too - I go for frozen every time!  ;D

Tin Shed

Bought some Jus Rol puff pastry not long ago and it just didn't 'puff' ::)

I've always had reasonable success with Sainsburys own brand puff pastry from their fridge section (freeze it when i get home). In fact this thread reminded i had half a packet in the freezer that needed using. Just made some marmite and cheeze puff rolls - now trying really hard not to eat them all before OH gets home!!
::)

rosebud

Yes peeps i know frozen or jus roll is excellent BUT it has to much hard fat=saturated, nice but not for me :(

The question was LOW fat?

Didn't think it would puff!

Oh - Rosebud - you posted as I was typing!!

Hyacinth

I've had a google Buds & not coming up with anything :'( What's your recipe for and can the 'puff' be substituted?

oakmore2

Sorry Rosebud, didn't read your original post properly. I think low fat puff pastry is a contradiction in terms, certainyl haven't managed to find a recipe anywhere for you.

Depending on your recipe, could you maybe substitue for a few layers of filo pastry? Just a thought...

:)

Hyacinth

I was thinking filo too :-\

rosebud

Brilliant idea, Yes filo will do nicely Thank you all very much.

Hyacinth

Now go on then....what are you making?
