JIM, MY ADVICE TO YOU IS Oppppps.
ask as many questions about it as is possible.
I never did that & it has played havoc, my own silly fault i know but you should be told as much as possible .
I was borderline for a long time, then it went over it does restict you of course but if you find out enough you can manage it well.

I am going this week for a half hour consultation to find out more so that i can help myself much more.
All the best let us know how you get on please.  Rosebud.

Your will get very contrary with people sometimes if you leave it a bit late. Judging from some of your posts, you are already displaying some of these traits.

So I apologise now for accusing you of having a drop to much to drink sometimes.

I have a mate who was the same, but just following his routine and taking his medication, you would not know he was diabetic. So don't worry yourself too much. Modern medicine will see you right.

It won't change your life as much as the complications of leaving it unteated...
My eldest Sis and Dad both got it later in life, so far the nasty fairy has just blessed me with other things...  :-X

Hi Jimtheworzel,

I need to tell you that being diagnosed with Diabetes (if you have it) is one of the best and most positive things that can happen to you (if you have diabetes) in your lifetime..........I know that sounds a bit 'touchy feely', but it is true.

My advice to anyone who finds out or thinks that they are diabetic is to seek help...... the following is the truth....in my own experience.

It would be better if it hadn't happened...but it did.  So get over it, and on with it - sounds very hard, but the sooner you accept it. the sooner you will feel better.

I was diagnosed 7 years ago, after passing out everywhere (at work/in the supermarket/at school/any other situation........I would pretend that I didn't feel faint - constantly lying to prevent a fuss, and continued lying until I fell over at work and could not get up again).  A symptom that is often failed to be recognised is (apology for this descripton, but there is no other way to put it)....greed at the table, a kind of nastiness around food, eating far too quickly .......but more than anything else is a kind of pettinesss on the food table.......

I won't bore you with the details, but having being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and having received treatment I am again (after time......leading a normal life).

Again if you suspect you have diabetes ....tell your GP.

Good luck Jimtheworzel - hope you are OK
