Hi,
i was given a frame (8x6) most bits were there :-) but no glass

i went to b&q and saw they had Palram Polycarbonate glazing and horticultural glass for about the same price.

1. does anyone know if the playcarbonate is any good
2. how does it compare to the glass
3. any better places/ideas on how to get the greenhouse finished

Hi Straush
I have a poly greenhouse at home. It's in a very sheltered south facing spot.
I have a glass glazed house at the lottie.
I would NOT recommend to glaze with poly if the greenhouse is for you lottie. I don't think it would be strong enough  :'(

If you need glass why not try asking on Freecycle
:) Net It Or You Won't Get It  :)

thanks -  this green house is at the lottie - and i just read the b&q stuff is 1mm thick(thin)

they also sell glass for the same - might just go and buy that (as i got the frame for free)

thanks for the advice

I brought a greenhouse of ebay that had most of the glass missing.  I thought it would be a good idea to try the Polycarbonate sheets, but I had trouble getting them to stay on the frame.  In a mild wind they rattled, and any strong wind made several of the blow off around the garden and other the garden fence.

mmm, thats not good.  this greenhouse is in a fairly open space on the lottie -  might have to go for glass

thanks for the advice
