Some time ago I posted about the difficulties of answering the call of nature on a site without facilities (blush)

Here is my attempt at DIY - took most of the weekend! Am going to get one of these to go inside http://www.intertent.co.uk/product_422-10-100_Kampa-Khazi.htm

Have tried to disguise it with some bamboo screen, and should be getting some wooden doors for it from Freecycle, that look at bit tidier. Any suggestions for a shady-loving climbing plant (other than bindweed!) most welcome.

I agree with thifasmom - honeysuckle, it does a great job around our compost bin :)

Looks like a good idea, one of the allotment sites have toilets I think one male and one female. or maybe they are unisex not sure but @ least a toilets on the site.
If you are you are using composting toilets where do you put the poo and urine i know you use sawdust, and if it is a site compost toilet do you take it in turns to empty ?

Will put a biodegradable bin bag with some sawdust in the bottom, and muck it out very regularly - either bury it or put it in a dog waste bin on the way home. You can get some special granules for camping loos that are supposed to help the composting process work faster.

Hmm.. think I'd better get a lock for it once the door is fitted, unless any neighbours volunteer for a daily cleaning rota. Doesnt bear thinking about otherwise! :P

Save your money, we havn't had a lock on our toilet for over 20 years. Nobody has ever nicked a bucket of sh*t yet.

You can get some Shitake mushrooms gowing nearby as well and keep the Poosnips well away as they don't like muck.  ;D ;D ;D
