Although I have grown garlic before with success any tips on growing Elephant Garlic, Wilkos selling four big bulbs for £2.00, I hope to plant it out after easter, :)

Plant out a foot apart and treat as garlic. You'll be putting it in very late so the bulbs may not clove.

I put some of these in (January), about 5" apart though, and similar distance to my onions. Should I try to move them further apart? They are about 3" high.

I wouldn't disturb them now if they are growing. They will be ok but will be better next year now you know the correct distance between them
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

I think it may be a bit too late. I planted mine in October..... good luck though.   :D

Had a look on the packet it says plant 'Feb-May', :)

i grew these back in 2007 from wilkos as well and think i sowed them in May, in November they were still green and had not gone over i had lost the packaging and wasn't sure when to harvest so i pulled one, it was like a thick spring onion i used the others fresh over the following weeks, haven't got round to trying them again maybe next year. what does the packet say about when to harvesting?.

Sparkly

We tried these last year. We planted them in Oct and harvested in July. We planted 6 cloves, but only ended up with 1 successful bulb. It was a wet summer, but the ground wasnt particularly waterlogged. When I pulled the bulbs up all but one were rotten, even though the tops looked okay. Haven't bothered with them this year. I do have about 5 pips saved from the bulb we grew so I may try again next year in a raised bed.

I had a good crop last year, so I can only imagine that your ground gets seriously waterlogged!
