How many peas do you plant to each cane please & how far apart should the canes be?
Thanks.

I planted 2 peas pee cane and the canes were about 12" apart. Didn't have a packet so it was guess work...

When bulking up a new variety from HSL one per cane, as you usually only get 10 or 20. After that I tend to do 10-12 in a 3" pot and put a pot at each pole when they are about 3" tall...  :)

These are the purple flowered pea Saddad. Does that make a difference. I"ve got 20 peas. What about spacing of canes. I got them on a ssed swap & the grow to about 2mtrs.

I tend to start a dozen peas in a pot and use a couple of pots per can. If I have that many seeds, that is! If you've only got 20 seeds, plant them round a wigwam. Purple podded are tall, so you'll need eight-foot poles, and wind string round them to give the peas something to cling to.

I haven't got the space for a wigwam so how far apart please.

If you can give them 6" each way they'll be fine... the trick is the support, they need to climb..  :)

angle shades

:) I just bung them in and let them get on with it :-X

my biggest worry is mice, they seem to use my wigwams as climbing frames/ shades x
grow your own way

I am bulking up climbing Pea 'Frueher Heinrich' for the HSL this year.
Have planted them out against plastic netting 6 ft high by 10 feet wide, fixed to firm stakes and Bamboos in between. Plants are 6 inch apart in a double staggered row (i.e. plants each side of netting)

Saddad, is your post correct ........ you plant the complete 3 inch pot of 10 seedlings at each pole ?

thanks
