offer to a museum?
You couldn't make it up!

I have around 20 of them. All in the condition they came through the letter box between 1940 and 1945. Newspapers and posters.
They should be preserved in some way.

betula

Sell them on ebay ;D

I'm with Tony on this one.  What a fantastic addition they would be to a war museum.  How about contacting somewhere like Eden Camp, it's an absolutely fantastic, informative war site (using actual old barracks) telling the story of the first world war all the way through to modern day wars with it's primary basis on WWII, I'm sure they would be so grateful for such items http://www.edencamp.co.uk/  Or the Imperial War Museum in London?

I have one of the very rare unsigned copies of Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler.  Dad brought it back from his 'joyride round the continent' as mother called it. ;D ;D

As D-Day was 6th June, dad went over on 14th.

My dad went in on the 6th... and walked all the way to the Rhine, before they blew him up in March '45... he survived and kept his legs (mostly)...  :-X

Impressive stuff, those posters should definitely find museums to go to.

Talking of WWII posters, does anyone else think it's hilarious that the BNP is still using one of the Polish squadron Spitfires on its pamphlets? (Pushed through my letter box last week, 60-odd years on...)
145 Polish pilots fought in the Battle of Britain, they were responsible for 12% of the hits...

Been researching a bit. I can't be sure they are 'of the time' especially considering Belgium's capitulation. Maybe it was the underground press, not sure tho'.
Certainly some of the newspapers are of the time. There are some publications here that are after 1945....need more research.

I think they are fascinating, stylistically of their time and the moment. definitely need a good home and one that is open to the public
I also loved the map showing the routes....

Wow, chilling stuff. Specially the (Dutch?) one referring to the Katyn massacre, and the very sinister 'Populations Abandonees' one.
Do you know much of the history of these? Who would have been distributing the Katyn one?

hellohelenhere

The Katyn one is shown here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katyn

and links indirectly to some various info, here:

The Katyn poster on that link is identical to the one I posted apart from the language.
