I have and do use scaffold debris netting. It has very fine mesh, stops the cabbage whites ;D if done up properly, they can get through the smallest of gaps, it allows watering to be done in situ, and lasts for ages.
I get mine off ebay, about £35 for 50x2mtrs inc. delivery.
Also available in different colours. You can have black, green, blue, red or yellow. Brightens up some plots. 8)
I would use it for fruit cages, currently covering my strawberry baths, or any framework that needed protection from birds etc...
p.s I call them strawberry baths because thats what they are, baths.
Don't worry about tomorrow, or yesterday, just think about today.

I use old net curtains on my brassica. Very cheap if bought from charity shops or from freecycle.

Being nylon based and very close weave they last for years.

Have a neighbour who is a skip rat and it is amazing what little freebees he recycles.

Saffold netting and water pipe supports. work a treat He gave me some net with a big rip in it and I 'darned' it with garden twine.
