I have dug up my Hunter spuds and a few of them have tiny white spots on them. What are they, and do they make the spuds inedible?

Can you was spuds before storing them provided you dry them thoroughly?

Tiny white spots are fine, they disappear when they dry...

You can wash them and dry well  but they don't store as well...  :-\

As Saddad says its nothing to worry about and does not affect the flavor of the spud, i think its caused where the soil has been to wet and the spud has not been able to breath.
When you wake up on a morning say "good morning world" and be grateful

I think sddad meant they don't store as well after washing rather than after getting white spots?
