Elephant ears

OH bought these things that looked like coconuts and planted them in the front garden.  They are getting bigger and bigger and when I asked him he didn't know what he had bought, it was my present.  Not sure that I like them if they are going to get too big but could use them to make a barrier to hide the double glazing shop next door.  Anyone know if they are elephant ears, certainly look like them.

Elephant ears is a generic name for these and many other aroids with big leaves. This one looks like a colocasia and is probably the eddoe. Plants like lots of water.
