Help with wild bees please

At the side of one of our pond filters there seems to be an underground bee hive. We thought it was a wasps nest untill hubby got stung and I had to remove the sting.
Wasps nest = no problem = ant killing powder.

We have 2 German Sheps (silly puppies nose around where they see the bees and have been stung), 1 golden ret, 2 cats, 1 four month old baby boy, one 75 yr old and four active adults using the garden alongside the hive of unpredictable bees!!!!

The problem we have is that the hive is just in the wrong place and we NEED to get to the filter so my questions are;

1. How do we get to the filter without triggering the attack response from the bees?

2. Can we 'calm' the bees in anyway?

3. Will they go away on their own or do I have to get a beekeeper in to collect the swarm?

I would rather not have to kill the swarm being as bees are in decline etc.

I can only keep this filter off line for a few days so please I need a fairly speedy solution.

Thanks

Jackie

if you want them moved contact you local beekeepers club, this might be listed in the phone book or ring the local council who usually have the number.

They sound like bumblebees. They'll have been there since the spring. Contact the local Beekeepers' Association and see what advice they have to offer. The nest will die out in the autumn if it's left to itself.

Thank you for your advice :)

Robert you are correct they are bumblebees.  ;D

After reading up on Bbees because of Roberts post we have now managed to get to the filter by working in the late evening and when it was rainy so no bees out and about.

The bees are being left alone to live as they wish. Im sure we will all learn to avoid them (except the silly pups lol)

Many thanks

Jackie
