I have been given some blue sweetcorn cobs. They are quite small, about 3-4 inches long and the cobs are a beautiful slate blue colour.
I don't have a name for them and neither did the person who gave them to me.
We tried one cob and it was quite starchy, may be it was past its best or perhaps it is a variety that is better for making into corn meal.
Does anyone else grow this type of corn?

Sounds like Hopi Blue... except I would have expected longer cobs...

and as you say a "meal" corn rather than a sweetcorn..

 What a beautiful collection!
Mine are the same colour as the ones in the middle on the back row.
Have you tried to make cornmeal out of them, Saddad - or do you eat them fresh?
Are they any good for pop corn? I got some pop corn for the children's [19.20,22!!] stockings from Lakeland last Christmas. They appeared to be just dried corn on the cob which you put into the microwave. One of those was a blue cob.

The starchier the better for Popcorn... I only grew them for "display" the red one (Bloody Butcher) 4th from right front makes colourful popcorn!!  :)
