Hi All,

A few of my cauliflowers which started to grow fine have gone a strange colour and the leaves have turned inwards towards the plant. Some of them have almost turned themselves upside down. Curiosity got the better of me and I pulled one up to take a look at what was going on under the surface. It appears that their is very very little root establishment which I guess would explain the poor state of the plants.

I think I made the schoolboy error of placing brassicas on an area where I had already grown brassicas. I grew some cauliflowers earlier in the year and they were fine, when they were all finished with I planted more cauliflowers on exactly the same spot. Something which I now know is a giant no no. Im guessing that my second cauliflowers have suffered from cabbage root fly or similar.

Does this sound like the cause of my problems? Can anyone suggest any other diseases/pests that could cause this?

Many thanks for the help and advice, it is greatly appreciated.
