Ok, so I emailed our local police station, told them he was missing, and offered a reward of a butternut squash and a slice of pumpkin for his safe return.

I received this reply from the sgt:-

"Sorry to hear about it. The reward looks tempting but as Police officers we could not receive any such reward. I am sure it could help with information from the public. I have printed the photo off and will make sure the station is aware of his loss. I think the PCSO is popping over tomorrow"
