Echinacea puperea: Planting distances

I have just received 6 dormant Echinacea purperea plants.

I am going to plant them tomorrow. Can you tell me how far I should leave between each one?

don't know properly but ours were planted about 9" between  :)

I've planted them out today, but am unsure if I've put them too deep.

I planted them so that the 'crown' is only slightly poking up above the soil.

Is this too deep?

      Can you tell me where you got your plants from please as i want to grow some in memory of my daughter. The one i want is Kim Knee High,been offered some for next year but no promise of delivery.
  Can they be grown in pots on the patio please?

Hello Gordon,

I bought my ones from JParkers online. They were in the special offer section.

I think you could grow them in pots as long as they are big enough- say, 10 litres, or so.

Just a note about growing in pots , Echinacea are really thirsty so consider adding water retaining granules or at least get some deep saucers under them by april.
