We have had our leather recliners for about 7 years now and couldn't go back to any other type of seating.  Whenever we have family visiting they always seem to go for the recliner seats and we are left with the settee.  We wish now we had bought our settee with pop out foot rests.

I have two La-Z-Boy sofas - both have reclining end seats. Mine came with me when I returned to the UK from Canada and are now over 12 years old. Wouldn't be without them. My left hand automatically goes down the outside of the armrest to raise the footrest when I sit down!

The suite was bought from Harveys in Andover in March 2003 and came with a 5 year guarantee.

We recently went to Southons in Salisbury to try out some recliners to go in another area of our house.  They do the Sherborne range.  The recliners were extremely comfortable but very expensive in leather.  The fabric ones were much cheaper and with the sale that they had on then, the prices were between £650 and £750 each chair.  

I just "Googled" Sherbourne recliners and came up with the following site;

To save on costs, you could go to a local furnishers to try out the chairs and then when you have decided on one, order it on line at a fraction of the cost.  It is important that you try them out first because they vary so much in design.

A couple of years ago a friend of my daughter's wassaving up for a La-zy-boy- and he was only 14! Such is the influence of "Friends"!

8 years ago I bought the lazy boy one from Argos.  Large black leather one.
3 or 4 years ago my son asked if he could have a TV and armchair in is bedroom.
No problem I said.  Came home a day or 2 later and my chair was missing from the sitting room.  It is still going strong.  A good wipe over and it looks as good as new.  So go for it.

Tim, if the furniture needs to be changed to suit your needs and you have the means do it,           then the old stuff,         well ask the kids if they want it before you advertise it...........
