Thanks for that Tony! Quite horrific. Still watching.

Horrifying and terrifying. I hate these reminders that these are the people that run our planet.  :(
Don't throw paper away. There is no away.

..into section 7. Just off to grab some lunch. This is really riveting.

OK finished now. Phew  :o :o :o :o. I've put the link on FB too. Question is what to do? I feel fired up and deflated at the same time.

Bugloss2009

This is the documentary "The World According to Monsanto", about GMO, which is a Eugenics Operation to murder billions of humans

nothing like keeping an open mind

tonybloke

Bugloss 2009, have you watched it??
You couldn't make it up!

Bugloss2009

personally I think Monsanto are the Spawn of Beezlebub, starting with (for me) the hatchet job they tried to do on Rachel Carson, but I think what the poster of the video says doesn't bode well for a sensible film

Just finished watching it, it is very disturbing.

They talk about GM corn from South America coming to Europe, and I've just realised that the layers pellets I buy for the chickens contains GM ingredients.

It's also making me think twice about using glyphosate - seems it's not as harmless as they say.

I'm going to go slightly off topic here, although still related. So apologies in advance.
As I am about to get a kitten I have been investigating cat litter brands and one of the most highly rated appears to be "World's Best" cat litter. Reading through the small print on their website I came across this:

WORLD'S BEST CAT LITTERâ„¢ is made from a natural organic material, whole-kernel corn, as opposed to an inorganic material such as clay. Even though WORLD'S BEST CAT LITTERâ„¢ is not a food product, it is made from the same corn varieties approved by the USDA/EPA/FDA and EU (European Union) for use in both food and animal feed products. It is safe for cats and cat owners.

Now would this be GM corn?

If so a bit of a bummer since it seems like a good product, but I don't want to use it if it has GM corn.

If it says that and it isn't actually organic then they're in some bother.  It will say on the packaging who certifies it as organic.  If it is organic I'm pretty sure it won't contain GM - I'm not 100% certain because I don't know if zero GM is a Soil Association thing, or an organic thing - Soil Association's standards are a little higher.

I seem to remember, on the Monsanto videos, they said the the GM corn was approved in the EU for animal products. Also The use of the word "organic" is as a comparison with "inorganic" clay, so they might be "playing with words".
Anyway I'll pop into the pet shop and read the label. I suppose I could email them too.

but the thing we're probably most proud of is the organic, all-natural characteristic of our litter
It doesn't appear to be certified organic so unless I'm mistaken they shouldn't be using that word organic.  I suggest you report it to trading standards.  The word organic has specific protection in the UK.

That was very much my line of thought. How do you know it's not certified organic?
