Mortality

I bought a green gooseberry bush in Wilkinsons the other day for £3.
It looks like it might be dead, it has no leaves, however the bottom of the pot was still moist.
Ive watered it and put it in my plastic greenhouse, if its still alive when can I expect to see new leaves or growth?
Please don't be offended by my nickname 'Mortality'
As to its history it was the name of a character I played in an online game called 'Everquest'
The character 'Mortality Rate' was a female Dark Elf Necromancer, the name seemed apt at the time and has been used alot by me over the years.

Most gooseberries have no leaves at the moment. I would put it outside as gooseberries are hardy and it will probably start growing leaves in the next month or so.
