i've got the solution. When me old Mum turns out empty handed tomorrow, i'll just say - I didn't get you a card, because as far as i'm concerned, Every Day Is Mother's Day  ;D Fool proof

I might even use it again, probably pushing it to try it out at Christmas  :o

The best Mothers Day pressy I ever had were two baskets of soft pink flowers, made by  the hands of each of my daughters from...........toilet paper.  So much work had gone into them.  I kept them for years  :D

I've still got the cards the children made at school (children now 29 and 30), black background with yellow and green crepe paper daffodils, in one of the year boxes in the loft  :)

That was a bit below the belt. Do you always think the worst of people?

Living in country we walked a mile to church and a mile back and we were able to pick violets and primoroses growing in the hedges. There was no need to steel anything from anyones garden. We were brought up not to steel anything from other peoples gardens.

I also was brought up in the country, and was taught not to steal anything from peoples hedges, but then, all the hedges in my village belonged to someone who we knew, it was a small village, and dad was on the parish council.  ;)

I'd be pretty peed off if folk nicked stuff from my hedge, wouldn't you?

there is no such thing as 'no mans land' (apart from a place called that in cornwall) everything in the country belongs to someone!!

and you think it's ok to take stuff from council roundabouts? I admit, a couple of huge canariensis palms would look nice in my garden, but I think Norwich city council would object if I took some home!!
