blanching dandelion

around my plot and  on it there are dandelions I wondering what would be the best to cover them so I have pale blanched leaves and has anyone tried them  :)

Good thick "builders bucket" will do the trick..and they will taste like chicory.. ;)

oh...what you really have to do is cut the top off from some really strong plants..give it good watering and then put bucket over and let it grow..all the new growth will be tender with little bitterness...

Blanched dandelion is really good, and you have the pleasure of eating your enemy. I have two buckets weighted with bricks that I move around the plot.

I read the other day that you can make the flowers into fritters, so I tried it (dip them in pancake mixture and quickly fry, then add lemon juice and sugar) but I have to say they are pretty tasteless. Just something soft to chew - it's the pancake mixture, sugar and lemon that makes it nice.
