Help needed with a cracking idea

Can anyone tell me how to complete 'C2'. its the only one I can't complete.

Make a tall thin pointy tool and poke it through the hole to make the cog topple down to the right, then quickly drop the tool and navigate the maze to catch the cog before it hits the ground.

Tried that loads of times, I just miss the cog every time.

So your saying that there is nothing you can do to actualy slow the cog down, or stop it rolling off the screen?

just nudge the cog as slow as you can :) patience is the key ;)
