When asked by a young patrol officer "Do you know you were speeding?" an 83 year old woman talked herself out of a ticket by stating -
"Yes, but.....I had to get there before I forgot where I was going".

Makes perfect sense to me....

That is not a joke.

It is now a frequent event for me to say...

Don't interrupt me or I will forget what I am doing.

Friends are adopting the saying after seeing it work well for me.

I also wander aroung the house saying out loud the name of the object I am looking for. It stops me forgetting.......That is not a joke either..
