;D    I'm glad to make the acquaintance of another optimist.  I thought there was only me  :)

Oh, insanely so. I've taken this on with my entire experience of gardening being not killing a chilli plant for eighteen months. On my kitchen windowsill, that is. I own currently one set of secateurs and a trowel, plus whatever the chap's left in the half a shed (rusty rake, hoe and scary cultivator that I've found so far). Haven't a clue!
For myself I am an optimist - it does not seem to be much use being anything else.

Sounds like my vegetable experience when starting out.  My current fork and spade I found on the dump and are still sort of going strong with a bit of binding and tape!

Amazing what you can beg and borrow as well which helps.  Have 'fun' with the brambling......

I'm going to harvest the blackberries and then cut down the brambles with mother's secateurs, all the while going "moo ha ha, I have you now". May need to get a fluffy white cat and a swivelly leather chair in the half a shed.
