Bugs and the cold spell

With this cold spell and all the snow are we likely to encounter fewer  bugs  that attack our allotments every year, :)

The cold must get some things, but the pea moth was back last year, after having temporarily disappeared because of a couple of dire summers. Unfortunately, a lot of the insects we want were also hit. This weather is going to affect small birds very badly, which reduces predation on insects until numbers build up again.
