The last 3 visits during the day last weekend (fri/sat/sun) I was the only one down there?, where the hell is everybody? Anyone else feeling lonely on the plot?

It's like that sometimes, a lot of people just don't like to go when its winter.
I like to listen to the birds or catch up with podcasts on Mp3 player-love Radio4.

Borlotti

Not surprised today, it was raining cats and dogs in not so sunny Enfield.  January and February are often quiet months as a bit wet and cold winds don't make it very pleasant.

I hardly see anyone this time of year. They start turning up as the weather gets warmer. Meanwhile, you can garden in peace, and get companionship here!

Mr Smith

I wish I could get on mine, but my allotment is still wet through after all this snow although my drainage is doing a sterling job by stopping the run off from the allotments further up the lotty site, I will be there this weekend installing my new upright greenhouse/coldframe, DIY job, :)

Past few times ive been ive been on my own, mind I do go in the afternoon when my boysa re at preschool so most people will also be at work. Its quiet and I get stuff done, really must sort out my discman though so I have some music or get a MP3 player.

I love being there on my own - you can talk to yourself without any queer looks  ;D but you do really just lose yourself in your own thoughts

No one at our plots lately, but what can you do in this weather, ???  then again we've had the council compost delivered today so I suppose the vultures will be over there, :( don't tell Borlotti about the compost.    :-X      ;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

Flighty

They're at home armchair gardening, and I don't blame them!  :)
Flighty's plot,  http://flightplot.wordpress.com,  is my blog.

I support the Gardening with Disabilities Trust, http://www.gardeningwithdisabilitiestrust.org.uk

been the same on my plot, aint seen anybody which i dont mind at all, dug beds over, cleaned leaves out of water features, general tidy up. just learned though the council are going to reduce vastly the few, limited services they provided, bit of a bummer but we'll survive...

Borlotti

If I wasn't a 'lady' I would say 'ucking ell', that is twice that compost has gone to the wrong site, and 'please tell me if I am wrong, lovely Kev', but who told you about the Council compost in the first place, (but we have 14 tons of horse manure (or straw) so there, and I do not need any more men, have OH (moaning) for over 25 years, lovely men on the allotment and at tennis, just want to walk and have a quiet time away from children, (who should be grown up), terrible twins (cats), moaning neighbours threatening me with the police for cat theft, grandchildren, who are lovely when they go home. P.sed off from Enfield.

manicscousers

Should be lots there tomorrow on ours, we're getting 16 tons of very well rotted muck delivered, if they're not there with their money, someone else will buy it  ;D

PeterVV

I am sooooo jealous, we never get anything....

OI!

Stop whingeing.  :P

Some of us have swine flu and are so ill we can't lie down or we are sick [again] - and everyone just keeps saying you've got to 'rest up'.....erm - I'd love to if only I could.

Yours, unable to eat for 6 days now and lusting after a pint of iced water, sat up as it's the only thing that can be done this time of night, East Mids.  :'(

[/quote]Oh,  :( sorry to hear about your flu. aj, and that you've had it so long. we hope you can keep some food down soon. Only good thing about flu is it is a way to lose weight but we doubt you're thinking about that currently. Get well soon.
The handle on your recliner does not qualify as an exercise machine.

Sorry borlotti - didn't mean to OI you - was having a bad night! It's turning into another bad day so hey ho  :'(

And wow - haven't we been spammed bad on here?

I've been so ill I've not seen it before. Nightmare.

Borlotti

Sorry you are ill, hope you are better soon.  I was really only having a giggle with Kev, who can take it, he knows I don't really mean it, and he will always come back with a funny remark, but suppose he is too busy getting all the compost.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I've had my share of compost in the last year so I'll leave it to the vultures, I hope they get soaked, and yes Borlotti it was you who tipped me off about the free compost    15 all.   :P :P :P
