First time I've been able to grow them and they smell fantastic, shame I have hayfever  ;D

They do smell wonderful don't they. I'd say 'heavenly' if I was the sort of person who said 'heavenly'...

Mmm, my favourite flower and I have never grown them. I used to love Yardleys Freesia perfume too but it hasn't been available for years.

What was your secret to grwoing them..you are tempting me as I never see them as cut flowers here.

We took on a small plot in november which was overgrown, Ray built me a small box and filled it with seived soil and old manure, I just planted the bulbs in march and forgot about them, maybe that's the secret  ;D
You're right, igeonseed, heavenly would describe the scent, it hits me every time I walk into my living room  :)

Do they look a bit like garlic when they are growing, before flowering? I thought I'd planted freesia but just foliage at present. When should they flower?

a bit like a lily, I think, that's what mine looked like, thought I'd got orange lillies, which I can't stand  :)

hi mine are flowering now but lost alot , i have tried to leave the bulbs in the ground till next yearthat has not worked though but was in leeds this year i will take them up and store in dry peat , by the way i lve in billingshurst now .
