Wow cool 8) Jemma, I can feel the pain in my back returning. I'm going to be a coward and stick to raised beds I think ???

GardnerJ

i would love raised beds but cannot seem to source the wood!

Wow ........lots of hard work gone on there.  Bet you cant wait to get started.
Take time to stop and smell the flowers.

GardnerJ

tim do you really like the walkways?

i hope to get some wood into the beds one day so i can seperate the bed from the soil?

Mrs Ava

Wow!  Loads of work!!  Such lovely straight sharp edges to!  I covet my neighbours straight edges!

Oh! Jemma

What's the big hole at the front by the rasberry canes ? I hope none of the family have gone missing - LOL.
You've got some very energetic friends if they were double digging the plot for you. Good work.

Granny.

Ha ha Granny - it does look a bit sinister doesn't it!!
Jemma - don't worry about the wood   - obviously that would be nice, but so long as you keep your edges tidy and keep the soil away from the grass (like you have at the moment - a bit of a gulley round the edge) you shouldn't have too much problem. Every winter, you just have to tidy the edges up again...

the huge hole is my bean trench! and a fine one it is too! i did dig one myself but it was a real wimpy girl effort! hubby simon did a grand job!
the raspberries were there when i got it so it is a real bonus! i will just have to wait and see if i get anything from them this year!
Jemma x :)

Granny_Smith

Well done Jemma,

We did a similar trench for our beans once - filled the bottom with really wet newspaper, topped it with a good manure then covered it over with soil. Best yeild from the runner beans we ever had.

Nice one Jemma!

Your way of doing beds and paths is the same as mine but most of my plot is on a slope!
