What weather forecasts do all the peeps on here go by? I tend to look at the BBC site but it changes every time i look at it. It would be nice to see a longer range forecast that is quite accurate.

I go by this:
http://www.xcweather.co.uk/

But I don't think there's any such thing as an accurate long range forecast, except for when conditions are settled. It's OK though, for a rough idea, and easy to use. Click on the arrow nearest you for temperature and outlook.

Had a bit of a rant about this on the 1st Sept thread. I don't think any of them can be that accurate given the way UK's buffeted on all sides, suspect it depends which weather system happens to 'win'. It might be better to do the old-fashioned thing - get up in the morning look at the sky, smell the air and use your instincts :)

I use metcheck which I find better than most other sites.  Some one on here suggested it.

I like this one. You can compare what they said would happen with what actually did happen, which is fun. They have been guilty of saying it rained when it didn't, though.....

BBC behind the metoffice so I go straight to their site I have set this for Windsor in case you are the Queen ;D

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/se/windsor_forecast_weather.html

I also like this one for the rain

http://www.raintoday.co.uk/

If you set your town it centres on that each time you go to the site.

The bbc website is terrible despite where they get their info.  Their forecasters must have the 'inverse' Midas Touch.

Go with Metcheck

You have to use three or four and arrive at a consensus by majority vote.

I use

news.bbc.co.uk/weather
uk.weather.com
www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/uk_forecast_weather.html
www.metcheck.com
http://weather.weatherbug.co.uk/
http://www.wunderground.com/

Between them you can get an accurate picture.

I have come to believe that the BBC have today what the Met Office were showing yesterday.

Added to that is what I call the ministry of disinformation which dumbs down Saturday and Sundays weather to reduce traffic on the roads.  And often the weekly forecast on Countryfile is more accurate than the daily forecasts.

The problem with the BBC is they got rid of all the old boys like Bob Rust who knew what they were talking about, and instead recruited a bunch of fluffy blonde bimbos who look good on camera but otherwise dont know one end of a cumulo-nimbus cloud from the other.

The other problem is they are too reliant on a huge computer they spent £300M on. They have to now justify the cost, and so plough on regardless, never admitting there comnputer model is a pile of junk and as accurate as a rubber arrow.  They use the same computer model to back up there barmy claims about global warming, which are so innaccurate they're laughable. How they imagine they can predict the climate 50 years from now when the machine cant even get tomorrows weather right is beyond me.

Thanks all, it's getting embarrassing being on the plot in my speedo's and flip-flops when it's chucking it down and blowing a gale. Puts my hair all out of place.  ;D ;D :o
