Hello,

As I have decided to leave a popular social network site (not sure if you can name other sites on here) I will be on here more and so I thought I'd do a nice friendly post rather than a can you help post.

So you know I'm Vicki, I got my plot Sept 2010 so it wasn't really cleared and ready for much last year but I'm hoping this year will be better. I've put a couple of photos in my gallery if you wanted to see it. I's a 10m x 10m ish plot.

I am a stay at home mom I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old, I can't get to the plot much when it is cold though as my 2 year old is really affected by the cold (she turns literally purple) and we are waiting for her to see a cardiologist to get to the bottom of it.

I've posted on here for advice a few times but haven't really properly been friendly and you really all do seem nice genuine people so thought I would try and join the community properly.

Hi and welcome from from me too.. ;D
Yes..I think we are rather 'family' over here..talking so much more about anything and everything..often allotments and gardening being left with less attention than gossip...and time to time somebody will let some steam out too.. ;D ;D

Thanks for all the welcomes.

Yes I was on Facebook, I was on it practically everytime my little one fell asleep. I'm hoping with this site they'll be nobody to talk to because you'll all be busy digging  :)

Hi Vicki m. A big welcome to you
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

hippydave

Welcome Vicky, there are some very good bods on here, there for advice a chuckle and support when needed. There's very little dummy spitting but occasionally there's a bit which is normally sorted quite quick.
you may be a king or a little street sweeper but sooner or later you dance with de reaper.

Nice to have you around.

I have a daughter who is always cold, apart from a few days per year when she is too hot.   We have to be very careful to keep her warm.  Have you been advised to keep her nose covered, seems the cold air goes straight inside and cools the whole body.  We always made sure she had a scarf across her face in cold weather.   She still wears thermal underwear most of the time.  I still miss C&A they used to sell brilliant skiwear in child sizes at a reasonable price.

Thanks for that, we do keep her face covered with a scarf when she will keep it on and her ski jacket and bottoms over her clothes when we go out. Luckily she is happy to wear a hat and gloves. I hadn't thought of thermal underwear, she is potty training though so its a bit difficult to get everything off for an emergency wee as it is but I'm sure we'll get there.

I'm on Facebook as Scarecrows Smith but I use it mainly for playing games.  A4A is brilliant because we can (and do) discuss almost anything.  A few of us are here in the early mornings but the numbers build up from around 7am.

I also left farcebook, as it just ended up being a time consuming inconvenience :)

Although I don't post much - more of a lurker,  I am on everyday and reading all of the posts here is greatly increasing my knowledge which I desperately need for my new plot (May 2011)

It is without a doubt the best and most friendly forum I have come across so far, you'll enjoy it whatever level of involvement you have.

Friends always welcome on the plot, weeds by appointment only.

The fact that so many members have been on here for years proves what a good site this is. Come and enjoy.
