We got quite a large number of raspberry canes last autumn and planted them. Quite a few haven't done anything yet. Is this normal . A couple from another supplier have started shooting.

Should I be worried or should they come good in time?

I dont know whats normal with these raspberry canes but I got some from ebay about five weeks ago and they have done nothing either. I too was beginning to think they were duds!

It is early days yet..for both of you.
Even my established canes haven't started to produce any new growth from ground level so newly planted can be expected being even more late.
My summer raspberries has started to grow higher up from the canes, but that growth is always earlier than the new canes growth from bellow soil level.
If you don't see any new growth by July..then I would start questioning of the success.

Raspberries are very frustrating.  I think that the best shoots come from the roots.  Do not give up on them for quite a time yet.  I planted several new varieties this year and some are showing and some there is nothing.  I am trying to keep the roots of mine damp but not too wet.

I planted 5 lines i Autumn that I dug up and re-positioned... only a few have showed any sign of life sf far... Just hold on and they will grow - they are a weed so dont worry ..
