BAK reminds me that it's that time of year when we compare the rents on out allotments.

So that we can compare the rents what would be really helpful is if you could say what the all-inclusive price of a ten pole plot on your site would be, including any water rates and admin charges, but excluding any optional association membership charges.

If you don't know the price of a ten pole plot then just say how much you pay and the size of your plot.

Appreciate it, thanks.

gerbera

A 1/2  plot measuring 140 square metres. 31p fer sqm if I lived 100yds away.....but doubled now. I now live 'out of area' so pay double, until I live over the road. £84 per year I think..

Squash64

£40 for a Standard plot (201 = 400 sq yds)
increasing to
£75 in October this year.

It's half price for over 60s

I pay £50 for two ½ plots each measuring 108 sqm, my plots are in Croydon just outside London

TEL

My plot is 400 square metres at a cost of £30.00 a year but no water

Chrispy

In Guildford I pay £52 per year for 10 poles

This is broken down as follows:
Rent £2.75/pole OAPs go 50% discount on this for the first 10 poles (or 8 poles on some sites)
Water £2.10/pole
Insurance, NSALG, Admin £3.50 per person

BAK

We only have two 10 pole plots (250 sq metres) left at Sunningdale in Berks.

The average size of plot is just under 5 poles (125 sq. metres).

No rent increase this year.

The cost of a 10 pole plot is £28 ... the cost of a 5 pole plot £14.

The cost per pole is therefore £2.80. It includes water.

There are no concessions.

£27.00 for a 10-pole plot, plus £5.00 surcharge for NSALG & RHS affiliation and insurance, regardless of size of plot. Total therefore £32.00. No reductions.

Independent, non-Council site. Car park, composting toilet, water on or near every plot, mowers, strimmers & rotavators available for use, regular free supplies of manure, pallets & bark chippings.

Our rent to our landlords goes up by the rate of inflation each year, so we try to keep in step. A slight increase this year, but none last.

Hi all i have a half plot [still quite big ] and pay £26.00 per year with water .Not bad me thinks no increase on last year
Don't worry be Happy ! Thatchers Heritage / Chedder Valley Cider ! Happy Day's It will take over your life .Love the outdoor life . Its hard work but its worth it in the end.Black Country Born n Bred !

Old Central

In London Borough of Merton it is £101 for 10 rods plus £9.50 for water, so £110.50 - sounds like they are in for a windfall as a result of the hose pipe ban. New plot holders now only get five rod plots.

My site is going self administered, although the sites across the borough are becoming a mixture of self administered and council run.

From the CBC website:

In 2012/3 the rent is £14.40 per 100 square yards. Concessionary rates are available for 60+, students in f/t education and those in receipt of income related benefits (proof of eligibility is required)

Includes water and a good skip service.

Most of the tenants pay half price.

grawrc

£20 for approx 200 sq yards. (they vary a bit!!) and £10 for a half-plot. No concessions. Includes water, Fedaga membership and insurance and occasional skips. No toilets.

caroline7758

Not sure of the size but I pay £20 and that seems to be the same whatever the size as I gave up half my plot last year and it's still the same rent! No water, nothing included , except some hedge-cutting which only gets done if you make a fuss!
