Early purple sprouting

It's a funny thing but everyone else has been harvesting their Broc at my allotment site for about 2-3 weeks, mine isn't even close to throwing shoots yet, it definately says "early" on the packet, anyone else still waiting?

Ours is only just coming in. Depends to some extent on the planting time?? We've been picking early white - which I much prefer - for a week.

Mine shows no sign of sprouting (I think it is a sprouting broccoli - Red Spear), but the white I had last year was cropping in March.

I have not had any of my purple sprouting however my father on the same allotment has been harvesting his for at least two weeks.

Still waiting for mine too - but I was a bit late getting it started.

Been picking for about 3 weeks now, and v.nice it is too!  Caulis just coming, hoorah.  Better late than never I say.

Note to self...

Must include some purple sprouting broccoli
(is this the one which turns green when cooked?)

and

must grow caulis  to ensure something to harvest at this bleak time of year.

mine is early purple sprouting which you harvest from march but i can't see any sign of a sprout!

Not had a picking yet went too have a look at the weekend to see how it was doing and the flipping pigeons have stripped them bare. covered them over so i should a picking in a couple of weeks.

I had my first picking yesterday, but it's only from one plant, the others arn't showing any signs yet.

But i've been picking that new one all winter, Bordeux I think it was called.
