Along with a fellow plot holder, we today collected 16 scaffold boards (free) and 26 bags of lovely horse manure (free).
I did give a donation for the horse manure which assure us further supplies and it's Pyralamid free!
The boards are to terrace two sloping plots which are a b*gger to cultivate at my age.

Last year I put a lot of effort into changing my sloping plot from parallel beds going down the slope to beds going across it, shored up by rather flimsy boards and pegs. But already the pleasure of walking across the slope instead of staggering up and down it is immense! So congratulations.

artichoke,
Fully agree and thanks. After 35 yrs. one should be able to fully enjoy using the plots. I have always planted across the slope and as one of my legs is becoming shorter due to it, something had to be done!
After all this time, I'm sure the soil has moved down and there's no way I'm gonna move it back. :angryfire:
