I have finally got enough rhubarb to freeze.  It does not well grow in my garden so I never had enough.  So I need some advice please on freezing it.  How long does it keep?  Do I have to blanche it?  I do hate doing that, it seems to get rid of any taste.

I am thinking rhubarb and yoghurt all winter!! :blob7: :blob7:

I just chop it into pieces, rinse and allow to drain, put into bag and freeze!
Keeps up to 12 months as far as I can tell.

I rinse the stalks, chop them and bag them and straight into freezer. They keep until next spring for the new crop :icon_cheers:
(I have used older than that rhubarb from freezer and it was still fine...)

If short of freezer space cook it first then it takes less room. Also you can then strain off some of the juice for making wine :icon_cheers:

Many thanks for your suggestions, I have managed to bag up four small bags, to stalks to a bag.   Looking forward to eating it in the winter.
