My plot neighbour PA is of Thai origin and cooks her wares at teachings
In family dwellings in London for a small fee to keep her son in college bless her.
I've tried various foods she has prepped and have to say they are delish if somewhat fiery.

So I have asked when she has time to bring her pots and pans to the plot and I will
List some recipes and methods and trade her knowledge for a bit of graft on Her plot when
She needs it......only fair.

So as and when I get to cook any myself I just wondered if any of you folks might
Want me to share them with piccies or are we a tad to meat and two veg to fancy
Giving them a try.

Won't be for a while though............ :tongue3:

No worries either way.

Gazza.

OH YES. Thai food is delicious.

Had a little Thai lad in my class back in the day, he was a right little character, and his leaving present to me was a wonderful Thai cook book.

Haven't forgotten the real chutney recipes Gazza. Will get round to doing it as soon as I can. Things are bit busy at the moment with the summer fairs and the selling.

sounds good Gaz.. saw a prog on tv, think it was masterchef. They went off to Thialand and  I remember one recipe having 40 ingredients put in a massive pestle and mortar. Could be a challenge!

Our lad is going out there tomo. Going traveling over Asia for a couple months before going back to college in sept. Will have to see if theres anything we need...lol

Sounds good. Love Thai food and I'm looking forward to the recipes, I may have to add less chilli as often found dishes are too hot hot for me  :happy7:

Yes please! Had thai food last year and it was lovely. Mind you my kitchen not big enough for 40 ingredients!

jesssands

That 40 ingredients was spices garlic chilli.. stuff like that. not onions meat etc ..btw!!

gazza1960

Ok,I'll have a word with her this summer.

I'm looking forward to learning too, although conversations are a bit like a Benny hill sketch as although her Spoken Ingrish is fine I find myself looking at her mouth trying to understand every 4 from 7 words.....Gord Elp you when I translate it to paper.... :tongue3:

Yep,on the heat front I'm a tad conservative too, preferring flavour over fire.

Great stuff gazza, get them on as soon as you can mate,i love Thai food, but you're recipes that I have tried in the past are much better than from the books I have,we can always moderate how many chillies we put in etc to suit if we don't like food so hot.

I did a shellfish Thai curry many years ago and we all sat eating it with the sweat trickling down our faces. It had a lovely flavour but even my son who is a hot, hot, hot fanatic found it a bit too hot. They all said they thought it needed more noodles to cool it down.

Wrote on the recipe that it needed less curry paste.

this has now become a family joke with any dish that is slightly hot, the chorus goes up, 'It needs more noodles', and this from the lad who bullied me relentlessly until I finally made a chilli jam to add to my wares. ( this is now my best seller, and my son never stops telling me  he told me so!!)

I would love you to put up some tried and tested Thai recipes. My daughter-in-law is Thai and likes to feed me, but her range is a little restricted - we could try some new ones together. I have eaten fantastic food in Bangkok and fear that part of the art is the very fresh and superlative local ingredients, and the very hard work the cooks put into the meals..... Look forward to learning otherwise.

Gai pad king is my favourite, Tom yam kung next, but I am upstairs on the computer when my wife makes her very smelly fish food made with fermented fish, she deserves a medal eating it, not into sticky rice but our young daughter loves it with a bit of chicken in the middle, as you have guessed Gade is Thai.

pumkinlover

Sounds interesting but not sure about fermented fish!
mind you that's just reminded me that I  have got a roll mop herring in the fridge :tongue3:
