Galina I don't know if people aren't interested or don't want to donate.

We always point out that people can donate as little, or as much, as they want to. A donation of £1 is just as welcome as any other amount, and can be made by text if easier than doing it through the JustGiving page.

As to which charity I would like it to be Greenfingers   http://www.greenfingerscharity.org.uk/

Greenfingers could also benefit from getting votes from us by clicking on the above url, for a chance of getting £3000 from Lloyds Bank even if it isn't chosen as our charity.

Thanks for the link, galina, I've clicked on it. I vote for greenfingers, too. Well deserving charity and I'll chip in a bit  :happy7:

I am happy with Greenfingers and unless we get a few replies for another charity I think we should go ahead with that even though it might be poor support this year every penny counts for those charities so even a small contribution will be appreciated I am sure.

I think it's early days yet - the original post was only put up three days ago.  Got to give it time enough for people to look in and have a read :)

Sorry I missed this one. Yes I hope that we do it again.
Personally I would like one of the charities where it the people whom the charity helps who actually do the gardening such as Thrive or Gardening Leave. However I am happy to go with the majority.
I think the ability to give a smaller amount is helpful. 10 x £1 = 1 x £10 = £10
Go for it!

Should we have a vote on the charity or just go with Greenfingers ??

Perhaps I'm wrong in thinking that a lack of people voting, or commenting, on this thread won't also mean that few people are likely to donate if we ahead with this.

However that is still my feeling so I reluctantly think that it's not worth doing this year, and I will donate direct to the charity of my choice.

Just wondered if we are going ahead with this, or doing our own thing?

I'm afraid that I missed the vote. Unfortunatly it does appear that there is not as much support for this as in previous years.
It was a very good idea at the time, and I do think that it is sad if it does not go ahead as I have said before if every member on here gave just a £1 it would raise a fantastic amount of money.

We've given ours to the philippians appeal so must bow out of this, with Thomas's appeal, we are fully occupied

Sorry only just noticed this.I do not get on this site too often nowadays.
I have posted elsewhere but if an appeal goes ahead I will be donating x

Hi I was away on holiday and just come back, I too have missed the vote so I have decided to give to all the charities four I believe? I will give my seed money not much, but as mentioned even a £1 is helpful give up a packet of bicy's or chocy bar all these charities need money and more I won't go on as you get my meaning :icon_cheers:
